Classical Notes: Regional singer up for Grammy on first recording FacebookTwitterEmail 2of5 3of5 5of5 Youthful radiance and earnest sincerity characterize the singing of tenor Brian Giebler, a Syracuse native, in his first solo recording “A Lad’s Love,” which is up for a Grammy Award on Sunday.  If there were more tenors with voices as clear, weightless and inviting then maybe song recitals wouldn’t be such a rarity. Besides the polished performances by Giebler and pianist Steven McGhee, what also makes the recent disc from Bridge Records so beguiling is the intertwined thematic strands that unite the repertoire.  The selections are songs composed by five British men who lived during the first half of the last century.  Among them, Benjamin Britten is the best known and also the youngest.
